Communicating with Confidence Workshop: Edina Dance Team

Her Next Play and the Edina Dance Team had a day filled with interactive activities, building confidence, and practicing communication skills. There were more than 40 attendees and the girls showed significant improvement in their confidence and communication skills.
A Conversation with Figure Skating Champion Surya Bonaly and Sports Commentator Lea B. Olsen

Her Next Play joined Rethink the Win for an up close and personal talk with former figure skater and special guest Surya Bonaly. Surya is the five-time European champion, nine-time French champion, and three-time World silver medalist. She is the only figure skater to land a backflip in Olympic competition.
CAN: Pivot Play- Transitioning from Sport to Career

The HNP Varsity Board hosted their first Career Accelerator Network Event. Over 50 former and current female athletes came to hear from a panel of powerful women leaders and former athletes who have successfully made the transition from sport to career.
Edina Girls' Sports Summit

The HNP JV Board set out to help their peers recognize the life skills learned through athletics and inspire girls to stay in sports. 130 middle school girls participated in a day full of yoga, mental skills training, soccer, nutrition advice, photo booth fun, and learnings from an Elite Athlete Panel.

Middle School girls are dropping out of sports at twice the rate of boys. Many girls drop out because they don't believe they'll have the opportunity to compete in high school. At the She Can Play event, parents got the inside scoop on the many athletic opportunities for girls from Edina High School Administrators and Coaches. This informative and insightful evening was made possible due to the generosity of our partner The Riveter and dozens of EHS coaches and administrators.
Track Girlz Empowerment Workshop

We love TrackGirlz and everything they are doing to empower young women through sisterhood and fitness. Founder and Olympian Mechelle Freeman led nearly 75 girls through an inspiring day of pilates, soccer and of course running! Her Next Play joined in and led interactive empowerment sessions to teach girls the importance of body language and how to communicate with confidence.

Women Coaches Symposium

Over 350 women coaches attended the 2019 Tucker Center Women Coaches Symposium for a day of professional development at the University of Minnesota. Her Next Play facilitated a break-out session for student athletes titled Your Next Play: Confidently Transitioning from Sport to Career. During this interactive session, students learned how to identify and articulate their transferable skills learned as an athlete, and reflect on the strength that differentiates and drives success. Through engaging exercises, they practiced how to confidently tell their story and market their skills to employers.
