This summer Her Next Play held our first ever Virtual 5K walk/run! We were humbled and honored by all the support we received for our largest fundraising event of the year, and are grateful to everyone who participated by running, walking, posting training pictures, donating, and bidding in the silent auction.
Over 250 racers in 18 states and 2 countries participated, and the fastest time recorded was an impressive 19:05! Through sponsorships, fundraising, and the silent auction, we raised over $35,000! This support will be critical to funding our programs into 2021.
Racers from around the country were motivated to train and get engaged in running to support Her Next Play’s mission to develop the next generation of women leaders through sports. Participants were equipped with an online race bib, four week training program, weekly playlists, and motivational words from athlete ambassadors. Racers also received a digital finisher's certificate once they completed the race, and were eligible to win a variety of Her Next Play 5K giveaways.
During race week, Her Next Play conducted a silent auction featuring over 65 amazing items, which raised $8,675 with a whopping 444 bids placed! Thank you so much to those who participated by bidding or donating an item.
