South St. Paul Girls Hockey LeadHER Workshops

Our 4 LeadHER workshop sessions with South St. Paul Girls Hockey focused on leadership and developing interpersonal skills to positively influence team culture. We connected with the team's three captains before each workshop session to personalize the group's goals, tailor content, and address team experiences. Throughout the workshops, athletes     explored self-leadership, co-leadership, their strengths, and motivation. Similarly, they developed strategies to develop and maintain a growth mindset while taking ownership over what they can control. By the end of the workshop series, players developed a deeper understanding of how to leverage their personal strengths to become strong leaders on and off the ice.

Minnetonka Girls Hockey LeadHER Workshop

During our workshop with Minnetonka Girls Hockey, athletes explored the value of self-leadership and how it influences team success. The session included engaging activities such as building the tallest marshmallow tower in under 5 minutes, allowing players to discover how their leadership tendencies show up when problem-solving under pressure. Our session emphasized being intentional with how players show up for their team and recognizing the natural strengths they bring to the table. By discovering their own strengths and understanding what each player contributes, players gain a clearer sense of how their individual roles strengthen team performance and culture.

HGBA (Hopkins Girls Basketball Association)

LeadHER Workshop

Our session with Hopkins Youth Girls Basketball, grades 4th-7th, specifically worked on self-leadership. The girls learned that self-leadership is not about who is the best player on     the court, but someone who is positive, takes accountably of their own actions, and is always there for their teammates. This was done through drawing out their glow and grow moments, playing a game of find you leadership match, and making a strength shield.

Special Olympics of MN Leadership Summit

At the Minnesota Special Olympics Summit, we had the opportunity to teach about adaptability. Athletes and their unified partners worked on flip your flop, which takes a situation in where you didn't react the way you wanted and you brainstorm how you would react differently. They played adaptability bingo, which showcased statements you can say like, this is hard but I am excited to learn, instead of I can't do it.
